The report, The Renewable Energy Transition, explores how African countries can achieve universal energy access within the 2030 Agenda timeframe and identifies four areas of action:

The African Trade Insurance Agency (ATI) announced today that Manuel Moses has formally assumed office as the fourth Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He enters the top job at a critical time in both the organisation and the region amidst a raging global pandemic that has bruised many economies.

Development Bank (KfW) committed USD 50 million to the African Energy Guarantee Facility (AEGF), doubling the AEGF capacity now to USD 1 billion for much-needed de-risking of energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in Sub-Saharan Africa.

In the past ten years, only 2% of the renewable energy installed worldwide has Africa as its protagonist. The factors that led to this data are explained by the study Connecting the dots. Why only 2% of global RE in Africa?, developed by RES4Africa Foundation in collaboration with Enel Green Power.
